Who
The JV High School team is open to all high school players.
The Varsity High School team is selected from tryouts. Players must be invited to play on the Varsity team.
When
The high school hockey season starts in late August with practices and typically concludes in early March with the league tournament.
Where
Varsity participates in the Kentucky High School Hockey League (KHSHL).
JV participates in the Cincinnati High School Hockey League (CHSHL).
Practices and home games are at the Lexington Ice Center in Lexington, KY.

Faro Funds
Additionally, we have an established hardship fund, the Faro Fund, to support families experiencing financial challenges. This fund is intended to provide temporary relief for specific situations. We encourage those in need to reach out to us for confidential assistance. Our goal is to ensure that financial concerns do not prevent anyone from participating in our programs.

About
The Lexington Thoroughbreds Varsity high school hockey team participates in the Kentucky High School Hockey League (KHSHL) and is for all high school aged students in the greater Lexington and Fayette country areas. Teams that win the end of season tournament have the opportunity to participate in the USA Hockey Youth National High School Division II tournament.
CKHA also offers a junior varsity high school hockey program in conjunction with its varsity team. They participate in the Cincinnati High School Hockey League and aim to participate against other JV teams and targeted 16U travel programs.

2024 - 25 HS Registration
You must have a 2024-2025 USA Hockey Membership to continue with registration: REGISTER - CLICK HERE - USA HOCKEY
2024 - 2025 High School Team Registration
1) Varsity registration is only available to those that received an invitation from the organization to play on the team.
2) JV registration is open to all high school players.
3) 14U players that are also playing JV should NOT use this registration. Register for 14U and then you will be sent a separate link to register for the JV team.
Note:
1) The deposit will go towards your total fee however it is non-refundable. Deposits will be required to complete registration.
2) Payments may be made in 8 installments with the first installment due on May 31, 2024.
3) Please pay careful attention to team selection that was provided to you in your email during the registration process.
