Travel Hockey

At Lexington Thoroughbreds Ice Hockey, we offer a competitive travel hockey experience designed to take young players to the next level. Our travel teams provide an opportunity for players aged 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U to develop their skills, compete at a higher level, and form lifelong friendships with teammates and coaches.

Our travel hockey program is built on a foundation of excellence, with a focus on developing both the individual skills of our players and the collective strength of our teams. Here’s what sets us apart:

• Coaching: Our teams are led by experienced coaches who are dedicated to player development and team success. With a focus on skill-building, strategy, and sportsmanship, our coaches guide players to reach their full potential.
• High-Level Competition: Competing in the Buckeye Travel Hockey League and the Southern Youth Travel Hockey League, our teams face some of the best youth hockey talent in the region. This exposure helps our players grow and prepares them for future hockey opportunities.
• Comprehensive Development: We emphasize a well-rounded approach to player development, including on-ice training, off-ice conditioning, and mental preparation. Our program is designed to foster not just great hockey players, but great individuals.
• Team Bonding and Community: Beyond the competition, our travel teams form a tight-knit community. Players develop strong bonds with their teammates and enjoy a supportive environment where they can thrive.

• Age Groups: We offer travel teams for the following age groups:
• 8U (Mites)
• 10U (Squirts)
• 12U (Peewees)
• 14U (Bantams)
• Leagues: Our teams compete in two prominent leagues:
• Buckeye Travel Hockey League
• Southern Youth Travel Hockey League
• Season Schedule: The travel hockey season runs from September to March, with practices held 2-3 days a week and games scheduled on weekends. Tournaments and special events are also a key part of our program.
